About Fido
Built to Rebuild
Fido ehf. is an Icelandic startup developing new concepts and prototypes in rehabilitation and exercise technology.

It was founded by Arnar Hafsteinsson, a health scientist with education in exercise science, health sciences, and business. He is currently conducting PhD research at the National University Hospital of Iceland, focusing on muscle strength and aging, and also teaches at university level on exercise approaches for older adults and the prevention of sarcopenia.

His earlier background in health and fitness coaching and leadership provides a practical foundation that continues to influence his approach to rehabilitation design.

Fido is in the early R&D phase, developing and testing ideas that combine clinical insight with practical design — aiming to create equipment that genuinely supports recovery and preserves strength in everyday care.

In addition to rehabilitation technology development, Fido is also expanding into clinically-aligned nutritional support solutions that complement muscle preservation, recovery and strength in frail older adults in hospital and rehabilitation settings. This includes launching a clinical-grade creatine line for hospitals, rehabilitation units, and pharmacies. Supplements are therefore a synergistic part of Fido’s mission to preserve muscle and function in vulnerable populations.

Fido’s unified mission is to protect and preserve muscle strength in older adults — through rehabilitation technology and clinically aligned nutritional support solutions.
